Man charged after eluding police in Morris County, authorities say
MOUNTAIN LAKES BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — A Boonton Township man faces multiple charges after police said he eluded a traffic stop in Mountain Lakes Borough last month.
The incident occurred on July 18 at about 11:06 p.m. when an officer attempted to stop a motorcycle. The driver, later identified as 21-year-old Baziar Roberts, allegedly refused to comply and fled the scene, police said on Saturday.
Police said Roberts was later identified and issued summonses for failure to maintain lane, failure to stop for a red light, failure to signal a turn, careless driving, reckless driving, and eluding. He was also issued a mandatory court appearance on the motor vehicle summonses and the criminal charge.
