Man charged with DWI, reckless driving in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 44-year-old Lake Hopatcong man is facing several charges including driving while intoxicated in Mount Olive Township.

On April 4, at around 12:24 a.m., an officer was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 206 near the Oakwood Apartments, police said.

The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was identified as Felix Dasilva, and he immediately showed signs of impairment due to alcohol and/or drugs, police said.

Dasilva performed standard field sobriety tests and upon completion of the tests, he was arrested and transported to police headquarters, police said.

Dasilva was charged with DWI, reckless driving, and refusal to submit breath test. He was then released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
