Man faces multiple charges after incidents at Washington Borough business

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Warren County) — A 58-year-old man from Glen Gardner faces multiple charges following a series of incidents at a Washington Borough business on Jan. 11, authorities said.

Washington Township police said officers responded at about 3:14 p.m. to an establishment in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue after receiving a report of an unwanted person. An investigation determined the man was highly intoxicated and had been involved in a physical altercation inside the business.

Police said the man was escorted from the property and issued summonses for disorderly conduct, harassment and maintaining a nuisance. He was also served with a trespass warning and advised he was prohibited from returning to the location.

While officers were clearing the area, the man returned to the establishment and again became disorderly, police said. He was then taken into custody.

The man, whose name was not released, was processed at police headquarters and issued additional summonses for defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and maintaining a nuisance. He was released to a family member and advised of a mandatory court appearance.
