Man injured in ATV crash charged with DWI in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Whitehouse Station man is facing charges after crashing his ATV along the New Jersey Transit railroad tracks in Readington Township.

On July 15, at 12:00 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to Railroad Avenue, located in the Whitehouse Station section of Readington Township, for an ATV accident, police said.

According to police, Andrew Fultz, 54, lost control of his Honda ATV while traveling west along the Raritan Valley line of the New Jersey Transit railroad and crashed down an embankment, police said.

Fultz became pinned between the machine and a tree. He attempted to gain the attention of passing drivers but remained trapped for over an hour, police said.

He was rescued after a joint effort from the Readington Township Police Department, the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, the Whitehouse Fire Department, and paramedics from the Hunterdon Medical Center.

Fultz suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

Fultz is charged with defiant trespass, driving while intoxicated, and related traffic offenses, police said.
