Man pleads guilty to stealing wallet and using credit card to purchase clothing, gift cards in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A new York man pleads guilty to stealing a wallet and then using a credit card to purchase clothing and gift cards, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Juan Yesquen-Salas, 36, of Brooklyn pled guilty to fourth-degree unlawful possession of property on Sept. 8 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Taggart said.

Yesquen-Sala admitted to knowingly stealing the victim’s wallet and using the victim’s credit card to obtain clothing and gift cards, Taggart said.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 27, Taggart said.

Yesquen-Salas was represented by Ron Bar-Nadav, Esq., and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Assistant Prosecutor Jonathan E. McMeen.
