Man pleads guilty to uttering, providing false documents claiming ownership of property in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Bergen County man has plead guilty to uttering and providing false documents to police claiming ownership of property in Sussex County, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray.

Howard Dupigny, 51, of Alpine Borough pled guilty to third-degree uttering a fraudulent document and third-degree criminal attempt theft by deception before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 28, Murray said.

Dupigny admitted to knowingly uttering false documents and presenting the false documents to police, claiming ownership of a property in Wantage Township, Murray said.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 31.

Dupigny was represented by John C. Grey, Esq. and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
