State police identify body recovered from Warren County pond

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — New Jersey State Police have identified the man whose body was recovered Thursday evening from Allamuchy Pond in Allamuchy Township.

According to an update released Monday, the deceased was identified as Dominic Gowdie, 32, of Hackettstown.

Troopers responded at approximately 7:12 p.m. June 11 to reports of a deceased individual in Allamuchy Pond, located near Rutherfurd Hall and visible from Route 517, according to State Police spokesperson Trooper II Christopher Postorino.

The body was recovered from the water and the individual’s identity was initially withheld pending notification of next of kin.

State police said Monday that no additional information is being released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
