Man sentenced for distributing cocaine in Sussex County
NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Hudson County man was sentenced for distributing cocaine in Newton, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray.
Terrance Davis, 38, of Jersey City was sentenced on July 26 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, .J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Murray said.
Davis was sentenced to five years state prison with a credit for 391 days jail already served. He must also submit a DNA sample and pay $1205 in mandatory fees and penalties, Murray said.
Davis previously pled guilty to third-degree distribution of cocaine, Murray said.
The charges arose from an investigation in April and May of 2023 by the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force the New Jersey State Police and Hopatcong Borough Police Department.
The investigation revealed that Davis was selling CDS in the Newton area and during his guilty plea, he admitted to distributing cocaine in a quantity of less than one-half of an ounce, Murray said.
Davis was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq. and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General/Acting Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Jerome Neidhardt.
