Man tells police “just take me to jail” after found sitting on hood of Hackettstown police vehicle with meth pipe

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A man was jailed after he allegedly told police that he wanted to be taken to jail after he was found sitting on the hood of a Hackettstown police vehicle with a meth pipe Wednesday morning, according to police.

On Sept. 6, at around 10:59 a.m., an officer entered the parking lot of the Hackettstown Police Department and observed a man sitting on the hood of an unmarked police vehicle, police said.

The officer approached the man, who was later identified as Cody Zeigler, 27, of Hackettstown and he was allegedly saying “just take me to jail,” police said.

Zeigler then pointed to a pipe that contained suspected methamphetamine residue that he put on the hood of the police vehicle, police said.

Zeigler was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct. He was then lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center pending a court appearance, police said.
