Mars completes acquisition of Kellanova, maker of Pringles and Cheez-It

Mars, Incorporated has finalized its acquisition of Kellanova, bringing together two global giants in the snacking industry and combining a portfolio of some of the world’s most recognizable brands, the company announced Thursday.

The deal unites Mars’ well-established confectionery and snacking lines — including SNICKERS®, M&M’S®, TWIX®, DOVE®, SKITTLES®, EXTRA®, KIND® and Nature’s Bakery® — with Kellanova’s major brands such as Pringles®, Cheez-It®, Pop-Tarts®, Rice Krispies Treats®, RXBAR® and Kellogg’s international cereal products.

“Today marks a transformative moment and I’m excited to welcome Kellanova to Mars,” said Andrew Clarke, global president of Mars Snacking. “United by more than a century of pioneering new categories and building iconic brands, Mars and Kellanova are joining forces to shape the future of snacking. With more than 50,000 Mars Snacking Associates and partners around the world, we’re now positioned to bring consumers more of the brands they love and new innovations — while continuing to advance our sustainability commitments and invest for the long term.”

With the acquisition complete, Mars Snacking expands its reach across high-demand product lines and adds Kellanova’s billion-dollar brands to its existing global portfolio. The move also broadens the offerings of Mars Snacking’s Accelerator division with products such as RXBAR®, Nutri-Grain® bars and Special K® bars.

Mars first announced the agreement to acquire Kellanova on Aug. 14, 2024. Kellanova shareowners approved the transaction on Nov. 1, 2024, and the acquisition secured all necessary regulatory approvals by Dec. 8, 2025.
