More than 10,800 Warren County general election ballots mailed to voters

BELVIDERE, N.J. (Warren County) — Warren County Clerk Holly Mackey announced that 10,814 ballots for the November General Election have been delivered to the post office for voters who requested them.

In a Facebook post Friday, Mackey reminded voters that delivery times may vary, even within the same household.

“Just because they went to the post office together doesn’t mean that they will travel through the system together so multiple VBM voters in the same house may not receive their ballot on the same day,” Mackey wrote. “The inner workings of the USPS sorting facility are as mysterious as Oak Island. So please wait until at least October 1st to call us about a missing ballot. Give the process a bit of time to work.”

She added that voters who prefer not to wait for their mail ballot can visit the Clerk’s Office during business hours to vote in person on a paper ballot.

Mackey also noted the effort involved in preparing and mailing the ballots.

“Returning your ballot that we sent you makes our hearts happy,” Mackey wrote. “A LOT of work goes in to sending them out. 5 days of blood (papercuts), sweat (lifting all the supply boxes & full heavy trays of ballots is quite the workout) and tears (this one might be a stretch but after 5 solid days of packaging our necks/shoulders/backs are angry with us) are spent sending them out. It only takes you a few minutes to vote and return them.”

Ballots can be returned by mail, through secure drop boxes, or directly to the Clerk’s Office.
