Morris County driver killed after SUV overturns on Garden State Parkway

TINTON FALLS, N.J. (Monmouth County) — A 20-year-old man from Morris County was killed early Saturday after his SUV veered off the Garden State Parkway and overturned, according to New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 6:12 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the parkway near milepost 109.6 in Tinton Falls, State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

A preliminary investigation found that a Mercedes-Benz SUV, driven by Scott Sanczyk of Kinnelon Borough, was traveling northbound when it veered off the roadway to the left, struck a guiderail and overturned.

Sanczyk was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.
