Morris County middle school briefly locked down after report of possible threat
PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, N.J. (Morris County) — Brooklawn Middle School was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after a student reported hearing concerning statements about a possible weapon, officials said.
According to police, the student who allegedly made the statements was quickly located and secured by school staff, the school security officer, and the School Resource Officer.
Police said the lockdown was lifted after authorities determined there was no immediate threat, and normal operations resumed.
The Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
