Morris County plans mosquito control spraying Aug. 20 in 3 Morris County towns

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Division of Mosquito Control will spray at several locations Wednesday, Aug. 20, after an increase in adult mosquito populations, officials announced.

Weather permitting, spraying will take place between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in Montville at Horseneck Road near Community Park and the amphitheater, and in East Hanover at Lurker Park. Crews using all-terrain vehicles will apply either Anvil 2+2, which contains the active ingredient Sumithrin (EPA Reg. No. 1021-1687-8329), or Zenivex E4, which contains Etofenprox (EPA Reg. No. 2724-807).

Additional mosquito control will be conducted in Jefferson between 9 p.m. and midnight along Weldon Road at Camp Jefferson. That spraying will be carried out with a truck-mounted sprayer using the same products under Pesticide Applicator License No. 20262B.
