MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office honored Lt. Joseph Soulias during a retirement ceremony June 26, recognizing his nearly 40 years of service in law enforcement.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, First Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood and Chief of Detectives Robert McNally recognized Soulias for his career, including the past 11 years with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Soulias began his law enforcement career in 1986 as a New Jersey State Police trooper. During his time with the State Police, he served in the Organized Crime Unit, Official Corruption Unit, Missing Persons Unit and Document Fraud Squad, ultimately serving as lieutenant of the Missing Persons Unit.
He joined the Morris County Sheriff’s Office in 2013 before transferring to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office in 2015.
During his tenure with the prosecutor’s office, Soulias served in the General Investigations, Arson/Environmental Crimes, Professional Standards and Financial Crimes units. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2021, overseeing the Professional Standards and Financial Crimes units.
Soulias earned a bachelor’s degree from Trenton State College and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University. He is also a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Prosecutor Carroll said, “Lt. Soulias has had an impressive law enforcement career across state and county agencies. Within those agencies, his diligence and dedication have aided multiple sensitive units, including the Organized Crime, Missing Persons, and Professional Standards units. As he embarks on this well-earned next chapter in his life, myself and my colleagues of the MCPO extend our gratitude and admiration to him for his years of exemplary service.”
