MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has welcomed Assistant Prosecutor Shayna Koczur, who was sworn into office during a ceremony Monday before Superior Court Judge Stephen Taylor.
Koczur has been assigned to the General Investigations Unit within the prosecutor’s office’s Courts and Administration Division.
Before joining the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Koczur served as an assistant prosecutor with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, where she was assigned to the Trial Team. In that role, she prosecuted major crimes, prepared victims for testimony and trial, presented cases to the grand jury, assisted investigators with warrants, and litigated motions involving competency, suppression, detention and other matters.
Koczur also previously served as a law clerk for Superior Court Judge Richard Wischusen, worked as an expungement assistant with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, and completed internships with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in global affairs from Bard College and a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School.
