Morris/Sussex Vicinage to honor military veterans during annual appreciation ceremony

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — The Morris/Sussex Vicinage will recognize judges and court employees who have served in the U.S. military during its 13th annual Military Appreciation Day ceremony on June 11 at the Morris County Courthouse.

Assignment Judge Stuart A. Minkowitz and the Morris County Veterans Services Office will honor vicinage employees and judges for their military service during the public event.

The featured speaker will be Terry Herbert, a U.S. Army Reserve specialist (E-4) who serves as manager of operations and incident response for the New Jersey Judiciary’s information security unit.

The ceremony also will feature musical performances by Keith Wood of the Rory O’Moore School of Pipes and Drums and members of the Mayo Performing Arts Company under the direction of education director Cathy Roy and musical director Charles Santoro.

The event is scheduled from 3 to 4 p.m. in the historic courtroom on the second floor of the Morris County Courthouse, located at 10 Court St. in Morristown.

The ceremony is open to the public and reservations are not required. A livestream will be available through the New Jersey Courts website under the Morris/Sussex Vicinage section.
