MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Mosquito Commission has scheduled mosquito control treatments in portions of Montville, Rockaway and Jefferson on Wednesday, July 22, weather permitting, due to an increase in the adult mosquito population.
An all-terrain vehicle will be used to treat wooded areas between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. at the following locations:
- Montville: Horseneck Road (Community Park and amphitheater)
- Rockaway: Cayuga Avenue and South Brookside Avenue (Tilcon woods and water tower)
A truck-mounted sprayer will be used to treat streets between 9 p.m. and midnight at the following location:
- Jefferson: Weldon Road (Camp Jefferson)
The commission said treatments will use either Anvil 2+2, containing the active ingredient Sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, containing the active ingredient Etofenprox. The applications will be performed by a licensed pesticide applicator.
