Mosquito spraying set for 2 Morris County towns on Sept. 6
MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — County officials said mosquito spraying will take place early Saturday in parts of Rockaway and Boonton Township following an increase in adult mosquito populations.
Weather permitting, crews will treat wooded areas and surrounding properties by all-terrain vehicle between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 6. Spraying will occur at Fireman’s Field on Beach Street in Rockaway and at the RVA Fields on Powerville Road in Boonton Township, officials said.
The treatments will use either Anvil 2+2, with the active ingredient Sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, with the active ingredient Etofenprox. Both insecticides are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
