Motorcyclist critically injured in Somerset County crash under investigation

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A motorcyclist was critically injured Saturday night in a crash involving a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Cedar Grove Lane and Pierce Street in Franklin Township, according to police.

The collision occurred around 10:41 p.m. on June 21. Police said a 2022 Ducati V4 motorcycle, operated by a 45-year-old man from Somerset, was traveling southbound on Cedar Grove Lane when it collided with a 2008 Lexus.

The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment.

The Lexus was driven by a 49-year-old man from Pleasant Hill, N.C., who had his 3-year-old daughter in the vehicle. Both were traveling southbound on Cedar Grove Lane and were not seriously injured, police said.
