N.J. posts detailed FY2027 budget plan online, outlining $60.7B proposal
TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey officials on Tuesday released the detailed budget book for Gov. Sherrill’s proposed $60.7 billion fiscal year 2027 spending plan, providing a comprehensive look at the administration’s policy priorities and financial blueprint.
State Treasurer Aaron Binder announced that the full budget document is now available on the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Management and Budget website. The publication expands on the governor’s earlier budget address and offers in-depth data on revenues, spending and agency operations.
The budget proposal is framed around making the state more affordable, strengthening long-term financial stability and improving transparency in government, according to administration officials.
Among its key elements are what the administration describes as record levels of property tax relief for middle-class families, a sixth consecutive full payment into the state’s public pension system and increased funding for K-12 education. The plan also includes energy initiatives aimed at reducing costs for residents.
The detailed budget book serves as both a policy guide and financial plan, with department-by-department breakdowns of appropriations, as well as summaries of revenues, expenditures and fund balances. It also includes recommended budget language to guide implementation.
A shorter “Budget-in-Brief” document, released alongside the governor’s address earlier this year, provides a condensed overview of the spending plan.
