New Jersey Fish & Wildlife to install updated trout stocking signs with QR codes

NEW JERSEY – New Jersey Fish & Wildlife will begin installing new “Trout Stocked Water” signs at stocked waterbodies across the state this year, giving anglers easier access to fishing information while on the water.

The updated, more durable signs will replace older versions and feature a QR code that links directly to trout-related resources.

By scanning the code, anglers will be able to view the state’s Trout Stocking Schedule, access additional trout fishing resources and use a new map-based Fishing Regulations App. The app provides location-specific regulations for every freshwater waterbody in New Jersey.

Users can select the waterbody where they plan to fish, and a pop-up will display site-specific rules, including special waterbody regulations and species harvest limits.

Fish & Wildlife officials said the new signage is designed to help anglers stay informed about regulations and stocking schedules so they can spend more time fishing.
