New Jersey MVC offices, inspection stations to close Tuesday for Election Day

NEW JERSEY — All New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) facilities, including agencies, road test sites and inspection stations, will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 3, in observance of Election Day, a state holiday.

The commission announced that all locations will resume normal business hours for the remainder of the week. However, motorists should also be aware that NJMVC facilities will be closed again Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Although in-person facilities will be closed on both holidays, the commission’s website, NJMVC.gov, will remain available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

More than 25 online services are available through the website, including driver license renewals and replacements, vehicle registration renewals and replacements, address changes, fee and surcharge payments, driver record requests and specialty license plate requests.

The NJMVC encourages residents who need motor vehicle services to visit its website before traveling to an agency or inspection station. Customers can use the site to complete eligible transactions online, schedule appointments for services requiring an in-person visit, verify required documentation and find answers to common questions.
