New Jersey State Police update Most Wanted list, seek Passaic attempted murder suspect

NEW JERSEY — The New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit has updated the state’s “Most Wanted” fugitive list, adding a Passaic County man wanted in connection with the stabbing of a juvenile victim.

State police announced the update in coordination with local law enforcement agencies and are asking for the public’s help locating Jason Barrera.

Authorities said Barrera is wanted by the Passaic Police Department on attempted murder charges stemming from the stabbing of a juvenile in late December 2025.

The updated “Most Wanted” list also includes fugitives wanted in connection with homicide, aggravated assault, sexual assault, narcotics distribution and other violent crimes across New Jersey.

The New Jersey State Police urged anyone with information about Barrera’s whereabouts to immediately contact the NJSP Fugitive Unit. Officials said all tips will remain confidential.
