NJ State Police: Violent crime operations net 225 arrests, 72 guns in second quarter
NEW JERSEY — New Jersey State Police conducted 20 coordinated violent crime reduction operations during the second quarter of 2026, resulting in hundreds of arrests, dozens of illegal firearms seized and the recovery of more than 100 stolen vehicles, according to the agency.
The operations were carried out by members of the New Jersey State Police Intelligence Section’s Investigations Branch in partnership with specialized State Police units and other law enforcement agencies.
According to State Police, the intelligence-driven enforcement efforts between April and June resulted in:
- 225 arrests
- 72 firearms seized
- 130 stolen vehicles recovered
- Approximately 101 kilograms of cocaine and heroin seized
- About $1 million in alleged illicit proceeds confiscated
State Police said the operations were designed to reduce violent crime and disrupt organized criminal activity throughout New Jersey.
The agency said the collaborative initiatives continue to target criminal networks while improving public safety across the state.
According to State Police, the efforts have coincided with measurable public safety improvements, including a reduction in shooting victims and declines in stolen vehicles and carjackings compared with the same period last year.
