No headlights, disregarding stop sign leads to DWI arrest in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – An officer’s observation of a vehicle allegedly being driven without its headlights and disregarding a stop sign in Denville Township Tuesday led to the driver being charged with driving while intoxicated.

On November 8, an officer stopped a vehicle on Savage Road after the officer observed a vehicle driving without its headlights on and traveling through a stop sign, police said.

Throughout the course of stop, the driver, who was identified as Geroge J. Acevedo, 49, of Clifton, was determined to be under the influence of liquor or drugs, police said.

Acevedo was charged with driving while intoxicated, traffic on marked lanes, consumption an alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle, maintenance of lamps, reckless driving, disregard of stop sign, and carless driving. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
