No injuries after apartment fire in Hunterdon County

CLINTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A fire broke out on Monday at the View 22 Apartment Complex, located at 100 Ida Seals Drive in Clinton, prompting the temporary evacuation of the building.

The fire, which started on the balcony of one apartment, occurred at approximately 11:32 a.m. and was contained to that unit. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there was no one inside the affected apartment at the time of the fire.

“It was a very small fire that was put out by the buildings fire suppression system,” Clinton Police Chief J. Cory Kubinak told RNJ.

In response to the blaze, approximately 150 residents of the building were evacuated for about 45 minutes. The affected floor was delayed for an additional 30 minutes, and the specific apartment where the fire occurred was evacuated for a few hours until the sprinkler system was reset.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, with officials citing an unknown source outside the building.
