Officers honored for lifesaving actions during 2025 emergencies in Mansfield Township

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Several Mansfield Township police officers, along with a Hackettstown police officer, were recognized Wednesday night for their actions during four separate medical emergencies in 2025, township officials said.

During the Township Committee meeting, Police Chief Michael MacDonough presented Life Saving Citation Bars to Sgt. Sillett, Sgt. Russell, Patrolman Cregar, Patrolman Black, Patrolman DePasquale and Patrolman McDonald for their roles in the incidents.

Officials said three of the emergencies involved cardiac events in which officers administered CPR and used automated external defibrillators to successfully restore patients’ heartbeats. A fourth incident involved a traumatic workplace accident that resulted in severe bodily injury.

Hackettstown Police Patrol Officer Whitmore was also recognized for her rapid response and assistance in providing critical medical aid during the workplace incident.

The Mansfield Township Police Department also expressed appreciation for the paramedics, 73 Rescue and local fire companies that assisted during the incidents, noting their continued availability and support during traumatic emergencies.
