Phillipsburg police seek man charged with terroristic threats

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J.(Warren County) — Phillipsburg police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man charged in connection with alleged terroristic threats following an investigation that began late last year.

According to the Phillipsburg Police Department, patrol officers responded to a call for service on Nov. 26, 2025, for a report of threats. The investigation resulted in charges being filed against Akeem S. Vereen for terroristic threats, specifically a threat to kill.

Police said Vereen was not at the location when officers arrived.

Vereen is described as a male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. His date of birth is Dec. 27, 1988.

Authorities said Vereen’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but he may be in the Newark area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Phillipsburg Police Department at 908-835-2002. Tips may be provided anonymously.
