MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — The Hackettstown Rotary Club’s Annual Holiday Food Drive brought in 4,220 pounds of food, including 130 turkeys and five hams, along with $2,074.07 in cash, checks, and gift cards during Saturday’s collection to benefit the Norwescap Food Bank.
Rotarians were stationed in the Panera Bread parking lot on Route 57, offering a convenient drive-through setup where donors could drop off food and monetary contributions without leaving their vehicles. Volunteers collected canned and dry goods, frozen turkeys, hams and financial donations throughout the day.
Norwescap employees packed the donations into a refrigerated truck and processed monetary contributions, which will help the food bank purchase additional food for distribution. Every dollar donated helps provide roughly three meals, amplifying the impact of the funds raised.
The collected food will be distributed through Norwescap’s pantry and feeding partners to assist neighbors facing food insecurity in Hunterdon, Sussex and Warren counties during the holiday season.
This annual drive, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving for more than 20 years, is one of the most significant efforts for the Norwescap Food Bank.
