Police arrest Morris County woman found slumped over in car with drugs

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A woman from Budd Lake was arrested after she was allegedly found in the Village Green Shopping Center parking lot slumped over the center console of her car with drugs, according to police.

On Sept. 13, at 5:33 p.m., police responded to the Village Green Shopping Center for a report of a female who appeared to be unconscious in the driver seat of a vehicle, officials said.

Police located the vehicle that was running, and the female driver was slumped over the center console. An officer was able to gain access to the car and wake the female, who was identified as 44-year-old Nancy Masone, authorities said.

As an officer spoke with Masone, police observed a bottle of Kratom between her legs. She was asked to exit her vehicle and as she spoke with police, an officer determined that she appeared to be impaired, officials said.

Masone was put through field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested. After the arrest, she was found to be in possession of amphetamine salt, amphetamine, and dextroamphetamine, police said.

Masone was charged with possession of CDS Schedule I-IV, under the influence of CDS, possession of paraphernalia, DWI, and reckless driving. She was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
