Police investigate report of drone spraying gray mist, later identified as commercial airplane in Hunterdon County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) — Police investigated a report of a drone spraying gray mist in Clinton Township, which was later identified as a commercial airplane, according to Clinton Township Police Chief Thomas A. DeRosa.

On December 12, police responded to a report of a drone flying above a residence on Apollo Place, with the drone appearing to spray a gray mist, DeRosa said.

The incident was reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), New Jersey Office of Homeland Security (NJOHS), and the New Jersey Regional Operations Intelligence Center (NJROIC), DeRosa added.

The FBI, in coordination with the FAA, confirmed that the unidentified aircraft was a commercial airplane en route to Newark International Airport, DeRosa said.
