Police search for suspects involved in Morris County armed robbery
MORRISTOWN, NJ (Morris County) – Police are searching for a group of men accused of robbing two individuals at gunpoint Saturday morning in Morristown, authorities said.
On Saturday, February 15, at around 8:00 a.m., police responded to several 911 calls reporting an armed robbery in the Windmill Pond section of town.
A witness reported seeing a group of unidentified males exit a dark-colored SUV and rob two individuals in a second vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects allegedly took money and personal items before fleeing the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The Bureau’s Investigative Unit immediately responded and began advancing the investigation, including conducting victim and witness interviews and canvassing the area for available surveillance footage.
“It is believed that this was an isolated incident, as the victims appear to have been targeted and followed from Manhattan,” officials said.
The investigation is ongoing in consultation with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. The Morristown Bureau of Police urges residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information or who observed anything unusual around this time is asked to contact Detective Kevin Beal at 973-292-6699 or the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at 973-285-6200.
