Police: Suspects force entry into Morris County home, steal SUV from driveway
CHATHAM BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — Three suspects forced their way into an occupied Chatham Borough residence and stole a luxury SUV from the driveway Wednesday, according to police.
Chatham Borough police said the incident occurred Jan. 7, 2026, when three individuals approached a home on Hillside Avenue. Investigators said a first-floor window was forced open using a prying tool, and two of the suspects entered the residence.
While inside, the suspects located the victim’s wallet and the key fob to a 2025 Range Rover, which police said were found in a kitchen drawer. The suspects then exited through the front door, police said.
Authorities said the Range Rover was subsequently stolen from the driveway and driven south on Hillside Avenue toward Chatham Township.
Police said the residents were home at the time of the burglary but had no contact with the suspects and were not injured.
