Project Self-Sufficiency hosts baby beginnings event for expectant and new parents

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – Motivational speaker Diana Perez will headline a special Baby Beginnings event at Project Self-Sufficiency on Friday, January 31, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The event aims to help pregnant women and parents of young children access essential resources to support their success.

The event will feature discussions on setting up a nursery, safe sleep tips, and other key topics, along with free baby items, prizes, and giveaways. Participants will also learn about immunizations, car seat safety, affordable family activities, early childhood development, positive parenting techniques, and more. Lunch will be provided.

Pregnant women and parents of young children are encouraged to register by calling 973-940-3500. The Baby Beginnings event is part of a monthly series offered by Project Self-Sufficiency, which also includes home visitation programs, Mommy Parties, and Parent Cafes.

“We’re excited to offer these engaging and informative gatherings,” said Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “Pregnant women and parents of young children often need accurate information on a wide range of topics, and these events provide both valuable advice and free resources for families.”

Representatives from several organizations will be on hand to share additional information about community resources for mothers and children, including Macaroni Kid, NJ Safe Kids, the Partnership for Maternal and Child Health, and the Sussex County Office of Public Health Nursing.
