Two face prostitution, drug charges after Morris County spa investigation

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP,  N.J. (Morris County) — A Flushing, New York, woman who allegedly oversaw the day-to-day operations of a Roxbury Township massage business has been charged with promoting prostitution, money laundering and drug possession following an investigation by county and local authorities.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally and Roxbury Police Chief Mathew Holland announced charges against Eongeun Ju, 57, following an investigation into 46 Pine Tree Spa in the Kenvil section of Roxbury Township.

According to authorities, investigators determined Ju oversaw the daily operations of the business and alleged she operated an illicit massage business that received proceeds generated from sex acts performed by employees.

On May 27, investigators from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit and the Roxbury Police Department executed a search warrant at the spa.

During the search, authorities said investigators seized items indicative of prostitution, suspected methamphetamine and approximately $8,000 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, Ju was charged with third-degree promoting prostitution, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and third-degree money laundering.

Ju was released on pretrial supervision under New Jersey’s Criminal Justice Reform Act. A preindictment conference is scheduled for July 6 before Superior Court Judge Ralph E. Amirata.

Authorities also charged Zhuo Li, 47, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and engaging in prostitution.

Li was charged on a summons complaint, processed and released pending a future court appearance.

The charges are merely accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
