Rain fails to dampen spirits at Hunterdon County Community Day
RINGOES, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Undeterred by gray skies and persistent rain, residents and visitors turned out Saturday for the 10th Annual Hunterdon County Community Day at the County Fairgrounds, celebrating local businesses, organizations and community spirit.
The family-friendly event, held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featured pony rides, a reptile show, the popular “Touch A Truck” exhibit, music, food vendors and more.
“Rain may have filled the skies, but it didn’t wash out our community’s energy or enthusiasm,” said Hunterdon County Commissioner Director John E. Lanza. “It’s always uplifting to see families turn out in support of an event that has become a beloved tradition since its inception in 2014 — local connections and community engagement are what make Hunterdon County such a special place to work and live.”
Commissioner Zach Rich, who serves as liaison to the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission, also attended the event.
“The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce and local sponsors do a great job every year in bringing this event to life,” Rich said. “Their commitment to fostering connections that strengthen our community is one of the many things that makes Hunterdon County so great.”
The event was sponsored by Hunterdon Health, Somerset Regal Bank, and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, with support from additional partners including ShopRite and the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission.
Since it began in 2014, Community Day has grown into a vibrant celebration attracting hundreds of participants each year. The event remains free to attend, showcasing the county’s businesses, cultural organizations and community initiatives.
