Ramp from North Main Street to Route 15 northbound in Wharton to close overnight for bridge repairs

WHARTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — The ramp from North Main Street to Route 15 northbound, along with two lanes of Route 15 southbound, will be closed overnight Friday into Saturday for bridge repair work, the New Jersey Department of Transportation announced.

The closures will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, and are scheduled to end by 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9. The work involves concrete deck repairs on the Route 15 southbound bridge over the ramp to Route 15 northbound.

During the ramp closure, motorists on North Main Street will be directed to stay left and continue on North Main Street, turn right onto Route 15 southbound, take the ramp to I-80 eastbound, exit at Mount Hope/Dover, turn left onto Mount Hope Avenue/County Route 661, then use the ramp to I-80 westbound and take Exit 34B to Route 15 northbound toward Jefferson and Sparta.

At the same time, the right and center lanes on Route 15 southbound will be closed from milepost 2.8 to 2.4 on the bridge over Route 15 northbound.

The work is part of a $16.4 million state-funded maintenance project to repair concrete structures at locations across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties.

Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays in the work zone. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Real-time traffic updates are available at www.511nj.org.
