Raritan Township opens nominations for Citizen, Volunteer Group and Business of the Year

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Raritan Township is now accepting applications for its annual Citizen of the Year, Volunteer Group of the Year, and Business of the Year awards through Sept. 30.

The awards honor individuals, businesses and organizations whose volunteerism, service and dedication have made a significant contribution to the township.

Nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizen of the Year: Must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Raritan Township.
  • Volunteer Group of the Year: The organization does not need to be based in the township but must have demonstrated dedication, initiative, and significant contributions to residents.
  • Business of the Year: Nominees must be located in the township and have positively impacted the local economy through job growth, innovation, customer service, employee development or community involvement.

Winners will be announced at a future Township Committee meeting, where honorees will also be recognized.

Nomination forms are available under the “Administration and Human Resources” page of the township’s website. Submissions may be emailed to administration@raritantwpnj.gov or mailed to the Raritan Township Administration Office, 1 Municipal Drive, Flemington, N.J. 08822.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker.
