Route 15 northbound ramp from North Main Street to close Friday night in Wharton
WHARTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — A ramp and several lanes along Route 15 in Morris County are scheduled to close Friday night for concrete deck repairs, state transportation officials said.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, the ramp from North Main Street to Route 15 northbound will be closed until 6 a.m. Saturday, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. At the same time, the left and center lanes on Route 15 southbound will be closed between mileposts 2.8 and 2.4, officials said.
The work will repair the Route 15 southbound bridge over the ramp to Route 15 northbound. A detour will send drivers from North Main Street onto Route 15 southbound, then I-80 eastbound, before looping through Exit 35 and Mount Hope Avenue to reconnect with Route 15 northbound at Exit 34B.
Transportation officials advised motorists to slow down, use caution, and expect delays in the work zone. The closures are part of a $16.4 million state-funded maintenance contract for bridge and concrete structure repairs across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties.
