Semi-truck driver injured after crashing into construction zone on I-80 in Morris County

MOUNT ARLINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A semi-truck driver was injured after crashing into a construction zone on Interstate 80 in Morris County early Saturday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 3:29 a.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 30.4 in Mount Arlington Borough, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a semi-tractor trailer was traveling east, entered a construction zone, and struck multiple sand-filled containers before striking a concrete barrier, Marchan said.

The driver reported minor injuries on scene, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Marchan said.
