Small kitchen fire extinguished in Hunterdon County home, officials say

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire Monday evening at a home along Route 202 in Raritan Township, officials said.

Crews from the Raritan Township Fire Company responded just after 7 p.m. and arrived within a minute of dispatch to find light smoke coming from the front and rear doors of the residence, according to officials. All occupants had exited the home before crews arrived.

Firefighters stretched attack lines to the front and rear doors and found a small fire in the kitchen, which was extinguished. The house was ventilated and checked for any extension of the flames.

No injuries were reported to residents or first responders.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
