Somerset County man dies weeks after being struck by falling branch while cutting tree in Pennsylvania

MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA (Monroe County) – A Somerset County man died of his injures weeks after being struck by a falling branch while cutting a tree in Monroe County, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

The incident occurred on Saturday, June 29, at around 1:30 p.m. in the 200 Block Melvin Lane in Middle Smithfield Township, Buglio said.

David M. Feingold, 76, of Somerset was struck by a large falling branch while cutting a tree, Buglio said.

Feingold was pronounced dead on Sunday, July 14, at 7:10 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Buglio said.

Buglio said the cause of death was complications of blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
