Somerset/Hunterdon/Warren Vicinage seeks volunteers for Child Placement Review board

The Somerset/Hunterdon/Warren Vicinage is seeking volunteers to serve on its Child Placement Review (CPR) board.

CPR board members monitor cases of children placed in foster care or residential placements by protective services to ensure that the placement serves the best interests of the child. Board members review case records and plans, interview interested parties and make recommendations to the court.

Members are appointed by the court for a provisional term of one year and could be reappointed for additional three-year terms.

Prospective CPR members must attend an initial orientation and training, followed by five hours of continuing education each year. In addition, CPR members undergo a screening process that includes an application, interview, fingerprinting, and criminal background check.

Interested candidates can access the volunteer application at njcourts.gov. For more information about these programs and the application process, email Volunteer Coordinator Beatriz Melendez at Beatriz.Melendez@njcourts.gov or call 908-332-7700, ext. 13832.
