Southbound traffic on Flanders-Netcong Road to be detoured for erosion project in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J.(Morris County) — Southbound traffic on Flanders-Netcong Road (County Road 613) between U.S. Route 206 and Flanders-Drakestown Road will be temporarily detoured starting Monday, June 23, as Phase 1 of an erosion control project gets underway, according to Morris County officials.

Northbound traffic will be maintained throughout the project. Phase 1 work will take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with closures and detours lifted at the end of each workday. This phase is expected to take about 5 to 10 business days.

Phase 2 is scheduled to begin Monday, July 14. During this phase, southbound traffic will be permanently detoured in the same area. Work will follow the same weekday schedule, but the detour will remain in place at all times until construction is complete. Phase 2 is expected to last 15 to 20 business days.

Detours will direct southbound drivers on Flanders-Netcong Road to Drakesdale Road and U.S. Route 206. Traffic from Flanders Road, Corey Road, Ramar Street and Flanders-Drakestown Road will also follow a detour via Drakesdale Road and U.S. Route 206.

Residents within the closure limits will have access where possible, with accommodations made for postal services, waste collection, emergency response and medical transportation.
