Spring shredding event hosted by Hackettstown Rotary Club open to all on April 5

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – The bi-annual Shredding Event will be held again this spring on April 5 from 9 a.m. until noon (or until the truck is full) at the Fulton Bank parking lot, located at 176 Mountain Ave, Hackettstown.

The cost will be $5 per bag or box, with all proceeds benefiting the various community organizations supported by the Rotary Club. All communities are welcome to participate.

“This is such a fun event for our Rotary team, as everyone who shows up that day is invariably happy and cheerful. I think they know it’s great to get a good deal, but it’s also wonderful to know they are supporting a good cause. It’s great for us to see so many of our neighbors and community members!” says Catherine Rust, the current president of the club and foundation.

The Shredding Day will also feature a representative from Abilities of Warren County, who will be accepting recyclable electronics throughout the morning. There is no charge for recycling regular electronics (such as computers and accessories, audio-visual components, small office equipment, telephones and cell phones, and small kitchen appliances). However, there will be a $25 charge for recycling large-screen TVs.

Some of the 35 local organizations supported by the Hackettstown Rotary Foundation include: Abilities, Alina Lodge addiction recovery, The ARC of Warren, CASA SHAW, DASACC (Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center), Gift of Life, Hackettstown Library, scholarships for Hackettstown High School and Warren County Technical School students, Hackettstown Medical Center Foundation, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Trinity and local food pantries, and in the International Peace program—the Cure Blindness initiative of the Himalayan Cataract Project.

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who unite to take action and create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
