Summer fun begins at ‘world’s greatest’ amusement park as Land of Make Believe opens Memorial Day weekend

HOPE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Summer fun gets an early start at Land of Make Believe in Hope, recognized as the “World’s Greatest Amusement Park,” on Memorial Day weekend.

New Jersey’s No. 1 “funcation” offers families an affordable day of unlimited rides for one price, along with free parking, free picnicking, and non-stop memories — an attractive option for families watching their budgets and seeking destinations closer to home this year.

The family-owned Land of Make Believe, located in scenic northwest New Jersey, continues to thrive. The park has expanded to include numerous thrill rides, attractions, a safari, and an expansive water park featuring the world’s largest wading pool, water slides, and a river tubing ride. There are rides and attractions for children, teens, and parents — something for everyone in the family.

Within the past year, Land of Make Believe has received a trifecta of recognition. The park — previously honored by federal and state legislators, county and local officials, and industry organizations — has now earned three major designations that have brought attention from across the United States and around the world.

The accolades began with Land of Make Believe being named the Most Iconic Amusement Park in New Jersey, followed by its designation as the No. 1 Amusement Park in New Jersey, and most recently as the World’s Greatest.

“We are super proud of these designations,” said Christopher Maier, whose family has owned the park since its inception. “My mother and father had a vision of providing wholesome fun for the entire family that has stood the test of time. It’s always been the intention to offer a safe and affordable experience for those who come here.”

In today’s economy, there may be no better deal than a day at Land of Make Believe.
