NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Sussex County Community College has renamed its campus art gallery in honor of longtime supporter William S. Finch, recognizing more than $1.27 million in lifetime giving to the college.
The college recently held a naming ceremony officially dedicating the space as the William S. Finch Art Gallery following Finch’s latest $500,000 contribution to the Sussex County Community College Foundation.
According to the college, Finch’s total lifetime giving now exceeds $1.247 million and has supported educational opportunities and cultural programming at the college.
The William S. Finch Art Gallery serves as a venue for student, faculty and regional art exhibitions while promoting artistic engagement throughout Sussex County.
College officials said the naming recognizes Finch’s commitment to higher education and the arts.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Finch for his remarkable generosity and unwavering dedication to Sussex County Community College,” said Dr. Cory Homer, president of SCCC. “His support not only strengthens our institution but also ensures that the arts remain an essential and accessible part of our students’ educational experience.”
The ceremony included remarks from college leadership, recognition of Finch’s contributions and an opportunity for attendees to view the gallery’s current exhibition, “Reflections.”
