Sussex County Community College to host Business Expo, job fair April 22

NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Sussex County Community College will host its seventh annual Business Expo and Mini Job Fair on Wednesday, April 22, offering networking opportunities, job resources and career development sessions for the community.

The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the college’s Student Center Theater and Writing Center and is open to all residents.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with local employers, explore job openings and receive assistance with job searches. The event will also provide networking opportunities for those interested in entrepreneurship, along with guidance from the college’s Business Education Department.

The expo will feature a keynote presentation on building a dynamic resume from 11:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a resume writing workshop from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center.

Organizers said participants can connect with alumni, business owners and peers while learning about internships and employment opportunities.

A wide range of businesses and organizations are expected to attend, including Atlantic Health, Provident Bank, PNC Bank, NJ Department of Children and Families, Metropolitan YMCA, SCARC Inc., Planet Networks and ShopRite of Sussex, among others.

SCCC Adjunct Professor Luisa Surma will deliver the keynote address.

Refreshments will be served, and students can receive a free “swag bag” and enter for a chance to win a prize pack.
