POCONO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Monroe County) — A Sussex County man faces drug charges after police responded to a reported theft of used cooking oil at a Monroe County diner, according to police.
Pocono Township police responded to the Scotrun Diner around 5:31 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, for a report of an oil theft in progress.
Officers made contact with Omar Rivera, 45, of Sussex, at the diner, police said.
An investigation determined Rivera was allegedly in possession of tools commonly used to steal used cooking oil, as well as a small amount of marijuana, according to police.
Rivera was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police did not indicate that Rivera was charged with theft in connection with the reported incident.
